This Weeks Activities!

This week in ESI has been very busy. Students participated in the World Education Games introductory video on Wednesday. Delegates visited from Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and British Columbia to show St Boniface students how the Mathletics program activities can help support their success in school. Students had the opportunity to participate in a Division 2 Mathletics marathon in the library. We also hosted our annual Terry Fox Walk. The whole school walked in their BFG groups around the neighbourhood in celebration of the 35th Anniversary of this fantastic event. One of our Grade 6 students won the draw for the T-shirt and led our group on our 45 minute walk around the Bonavista Community. We came back to school and supported a group of students and our Grade 6 teacher as their had pony tail cuts or shaved their heads to support cancer research. Our school raised ..........wait for it............ over $3000! Way to go St Boniface.

Delegates from across Canada.

Our Classroom Motto!

ESI News!

Next week we will be having our first PD Day at school with lots of exciting new happenings planned for the classroom. On Tuesday 22nd don't forget to bring your smiles for our class and individual photos.

We will also be having a visit from 5 child ambassadors from the World Education Games delegation. As our class is a member of the Mathletics website my students have been invited to be a part of a webcast that will include the Grade 4, Grade 5 and Grade 6 classes. Students will be a part of a video broadcast to promote the games that occur the second week of October. Our class is registered to be a part of the Math, ELA and Science games so it should be an exciting week for us all. Our first School Council meeting will take place on Wednesday 23rd at 6:30pm and all parents are welcome to attend.

Friday is our Terry Fox walk in the neighbourhood. We are well on the way to raising the $1500 but still need a few more donations to make this happen. Bring in your toonies!

Have a great long weekend.

Welcome Back Breakfast!

We had a wonderful morning today soaking up the sunshine while we enjoyed the fabulous breakfast provided by our parent council. Students were given the opportunity to eat cereal, yogurt tubes, and bananas before going off to socialize with the St. Boniface Community. I look forward to meeting with you all next week for our Parent and Teacher Conferences!

QR codes for the websites used in the classroom this year!

I am excited this year to introduce the students to the new programs we have added to the list this year called Mathletics and Writing A-Z. We will have access to the programs for the whole year and if successful we may consider renewing the licence in the future. For students who have returned to my program from last year I have tried to keep their passwords and usernames the same. If you still have last years Raz- Kids information it should now allow the students to access again. If you have any issues logging in there is a help button on the website or I can reset the password from my teacher portal too. I have decided this year to post the QR codes for the websites we use in the classroom. A paper copy will be available at the first oral interviews if you need one. I will give out passwords and information at the meetings too!
